Always Ready: 39th ABW Demonstrates Readiness, Crisis Response During Exercise Titan Dawn 26-05
From Sept. 22–24, 2026, the wing put those capabilities to the test during exercise Titan Dawn 26-05.
Designed to test how the base responds to real-world emergencies, the multi-day event challenged teams to react to simulated aircraft accidents, emergency challenges and base safety procedures.
During the scenarios, responders mobilized to control and mitigate a simulated major aircraft accident before transitioning immediately into a complex simulated chemical and hazardous material event. Airmen across operations, logistics, medical and mission support demonstrated agility by sustaining routine installation commitments while proving their capacity to support regional security objectives safely and effectively.
Executing an exercise of this scale required months of detailed coordination led by the 39th ABW Plans and Programs in partnership with the wing inspection enterprise.
"Good planning is where real readiness begins," said U.S. Air Force Capt. Jordan Thomason, 39th ABW Plans and Programs chief. "Every scenario in Titan Dawn was designed to test communication and emergency procedures under realistic conditions. Coordinating closely between emergency teams ensures that our real-world response is swift, unified and effective."
Behind every scenario stood the 39th ABW Inspector General office and a team of more than 35 Wing Inspection Team evaluators. Embedded across base units, these evaluators measured response times and graded teams carried as they out procedures to identify strengths and areas of improvement.
“Titan Dawn is one of several routine, pre-planned exercises conducted at Incirlik Air Base, which test our readiness and ensure we remain fully compliant with Air Force emergency management guidelines,” said Lt. Col. Christine Cuber, 39th ABW Inspector General. “These take place across military installations worldwide each year to maintain basic emergency skills, evaluate everyday safety procedures and prepare teams for standard response scenarios.”
This exercise was conducted under the installation Commander’s Inspection Program in accordance with the Air Force Inspection System and service-wide emergency management guidelines. These guidelines require routine, realistic exercises so units are prepared to manage hazards, assist casualties and maintain essential facilities. Practicing these scenarios regularly ensures that quick, coordinated response becomes second nature across the entire wing.
For base leadership, the three-day exercise showed that the wing is prepared to handle high-pressure situations at a moment's notice.
“Titan Dawn tested our grit, our determination and ourselves while sharpening the wing’s ability to respond under pressure,” said Col. Isaac Adams, 39th ABW commander. “Ultimately, this exercise confirmed the 39th ABW’s ability to deter aggression and project power alongside our Allies and is a reminder to anyone watching that the Titans are Always Ready!”
